Privacy & affiliate disclosure

Who we are

PartsPilot ("we", "us") operates this website. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@partspilot.co.uk. For UK data-protection purposes, we act as the data controller for the limited information described below.

What data we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. There are no user accounts and no login.

• Privacy-friendly analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint or track you across sites. It gives us aggregate page views and referrers — not personal profiles.
• Number-plate lookups (when used). If you use the registration-lookup feature, the plate you enter is sent to the DVSA MOT History API to return the vehicle's make, model and basic specs. We don't store a database of the plates you look up.
• Email you send us. If you email info@partspilot.co.uk we'll have whatever you put in that message, used only to reply to you.
• Standard server logs. Like any website, our host may briefly process technical request data (e.g. IP address, browser type) to serve pages and guard against abuse.

Cookies

We don't set advertising or tracking cookies of our own, and our analytics is cookieless. Note that when you click an outbound link to a retailer, eBay, Amazon or Autel, their site may set its own cookies — including affiliate-tracking cookies (see below) — which are governed by that company's own privacy and cookie policies.

Affiliate disclosure — how we make money

PartsPilot is free to use. We keep the lights on through affiliate commission: when you click certain outbound links and go on to buy, the retailer or marketplace may pay us a small commission. This never changes the price you pay, and it doesn't influence which offer we show as cheapest — we always rank by the lowest in-stock price we can see.

We are (or have applied to be) an affiliate partner of:

• eBay Partner Network — live listings shown on the compare pages link to eBay via our tracking link.
• Awin retailers — Euro Car Parts, GSF Car Parts, Buycarparts and AutoDoc (as programmes are approved).
• Autel UK — the diagnostic tools on our Tools page.
• Amazon Associates — where applicable.

Outbound commercial links are marked so search engines treat them correctly, and we'll always tell you when a link is an affiliate or sponsored link.

Sharing your data

We use a small number of trusted third-party service providers to host and run the site (for example, hosting, cookieless analytics, web fonts and the vehicle-data lookup described above). They only process data as needed to provide their service to us. We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Because we hold so little, in most cases there's nothing tied to you specifically — but if you'd like to exercise any of these rights, email info@partspilot.co.uk and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the site grows (for example, as new affiliate programmes or providers are added). When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above.
